Kosuke Kiritsugi
Merchant, Investor, Debtor
Physical Attributes:
Height: 7'1"
Weight: A high-enough level combat class could probably pick him up and throw him like a javelin.
Build: Lithe. Not exactly muscular, but his employment keeps him moving.
Age: 29 Summers
Markings: None.
Voice: Moderate pitch, composed demeanor.
Accent: Ul'dahn, though perceptive listeners might catch some Doman ticks.

Personality:
Kosuke is a mostly affable fellow. Usually reserved and with a solid grip on his own emotions, he is typically easy to talk to. Typically. He's ready and willing to use a sharp tongue to poke fun if he thinks you deserve it, or if he's just in a combative mood. While he's usually remarkably composed, if one can break down his professional veneer, he's likely to end up flustered and struggling.
Skills
Gil-Brained: Kosuke has a head for all things trading, commercial, and monetary. He could likely list the current economic trends in Kugane by memory and would talk your ear of if you'd let him. It can get bad.Rusty Blade: Kosuke, once, had been honing his sword arm. He has not really kept up with it though, and while he remembers the training of his youth, his swordsmanship is a little lacking these days. It is still technically a skill, though, if you consider knowing how not to fall on your own blade a skill.Fishing: Fishing is a hobby Kosuke has picked up relatively recently, but he's currently growing to be a fairly knowledgeable angler. When not busy with his work, he'll find a local fishing hole and cast a few lines.
Hooks
Mr. Moneybags: Need a loan? Some financial advice, perhaps? Someone to rob? Kosuke is a rather well known businessman throughout the streets of Ul'dah, so it's not out of the question one might recognize him if they're more familiar with the city. Other perceptive individuals could just look at him and see he's loaded, both through the way he carries himself and fineries he's regularly dressed in.A Smile and A Drink: Kosuke's not the type to bite, as long as you're not screwing with him first. He's typically willing to go for a friendly chat if you catch him on his few off hours.Fishing Friend: After realizing he barely had any passions outside of work, Kosuke has taken up fishing as a past time. He is largely inexperienced and doesn't do it much, but would be happy to trade stories with a more experienced angler.
Conditional Hooks:
Doma: If you were in Doma during the early period of its occupation, the house name 'Kiritsugi' might sound familiar to you.
Kugane: Those in Kugane about fifteen years ago might know the name of Kosuke Kiritsugi specifically, especially those with connections to real estate or crime.
-Please DM for permission to use any conditional hooks.-

Background
Kosuke first entered Eorzea with a firm boot to the ass. Scrambling off the gangplank of a ship, he was hardly nineteen summers old, and currently stumbling away from several brawny pirates tired of dealing with a smarmy kid from Kugane. Kosuke landed on the hard pavestones with little more than the clothes he was wearing and a sword strapped to his waist. Turning away from the sea he had just spent months crossing, he faced the rest of Eorzea and set out to make it his home.Kosuke found Ul'dah as many others did, desperate and needing employment. It was hard going, but he had better luck than most of Ul'dah's refugees. While he had little in the way of possessions arriving in Eorzea, his birth had afforded him an education and some skills which helped him secure a job at one of the various trade houses vying for control of Sapphire Avenue. Gil finally began to trickle into his coinpurse after many desperate nights. He was a competent salesman and eeked out a solid living amongst the sandstone walls of the Sultanate. All good things must come to an end eventually, though, as the head of his little trade house finally croaked without a proper heir. What was left of Kosuke's employment was carved up and portioned out like a Starlight dodo between the merchant houses of the area, and Kosuke was left with few options.Instead of simply joining another consortium, Kosuke bought his own cut of that dodo. The neck, really, a cheap property that he was only able to afford because no one richer wanted it. He wasn't even certain why his boss had kept the property. Buying it was exceedingly risky, considering he had comparatively few connections and not that much gil, but he was determined. It wasn't entirely obvious where the fire possessing Kosuke had come from, but his gamble certainly panned out. A few investments later, he had made a tidy sum. Nothing to rival the grand coffers of the Syndicate, mind you, but enough to start... and start he did.Years ticked by as he gained more gil and renown amongst the mercantile class of Ul'dah. Kosuke's name is typically shared with kind enough words, though most of Ul'dah's nobles view him as an eccentric sort. He spends more time in the Quicksands with adventurers then he does with his own ilk, which naturally cause plenty of rumors. There are few nobles who curse him, of course, although there are a few who curse every good merchant in Ul'dah. Besides, nobody was ever really able to prove Kosuke had anything to do with their misfortune... even though such retribution always seemed to occur after people had harmed him. Oh well. One man's loss is another man's gain, hm?
